ALL BASKETBALL ACTIVITIES PAUSED

As many of you are likely aware, the Governor has shutdown youth sports as part of the four week "pause" due to a significant increase in COVID cases.  Due to that executive order, we are going to have to put all basketball activities on hold for that timeframe and hope it is enough to reduce cases and let us get back to basketball.  With that said here is what we have for information at this time for our Travel and House programs...

Travel -

  • Any practices scheduled through Fri are allowed for teams as the mandate starts Saturday, but are optional with comfort levels of teams
  • Tournaments, including the RAYBA Boys Tournament, are being postponed and efforts will be made to reschedule
  • For tournaments missed over the next four weeks we will look to replace them if possible once basketball starts back up again
  • Volunteer hours scheduled for the boy's tournament will be on hold while we look to reschedule
  • We are asking that no teams look to find practices or tournaments that may be available elsewhere during these four weeks as there could be repercussions to the program or those teams

House -

  • Having not started practices yet, we will be postponing all house activities for four weeks and look to begin immediately when allowed to do so
  • High School tryouts will be moved to the beginning of January or as soon as we are allowed to hold them

Cancellations and Refunds

  • We have many things to look at and consider in determining how to approach cancelling any part of the season and how we can address refunds if needed, but our intention is to continue with as close to a full season as we can after these four weeks

More to come on all the bullets above as we pull together information and work with local and state authorities and organizations on moving forward with basketball after the four week pause per the Governor.  We ask for your patience and understanding in what is a difficult time for all of us.

Please follow the recommended guidelines so that we can ideally get back to basketball after this break and not have it extended further.

RAYBA - Rogers Area Youth Basketball Association

RAYBA provides youth in the communities of Dayton, Otsego and Rogers the opportunity to play organized basketball through House and Travel programs.

Players should be prepared to practice hard, play hard and have fun in a structured basketball environment. RAYBA provides In-House leagues for grades Kindergarten through 12th (Boys and Girls) along with Boys and Girls Travel teams for grades 4th through 8th.

Teams are coached and/or managed by local volunteers. Tryouts are held in September for the Travel teams. In the event a player does not make a Travel team, they are given the option to play on an In-House team. For more information on RAYBA's In-House or Travel basketball programs please click the House or Travel Information Center links above.
